Hi I need your help i have a swb s3 with a early def 90 dropped in to it its useing the same throttle link as a s3 would but it seems to jump and jerk on the road when i go over a pot hole or these speed humps.Im all out of ideas to cure this I NEED YOUR HELP. :dunno:

common problem
its to do with the linkage the original was designed for the vertical pump on the 2.25 so and movement side ways as the engine rocks caused no problems because the inj pump on the 2.5 is horizontal as the engine rocks the throttle jumps about either stick a 90 throttle cable on or a good heavy throttle return spring on the throttle lever on the inj pump

Hmm, ok, maybe I was mistaken. I thought you were referring to a suspension problem. When I hear people complaining about how the car bounces around after hitting a bump or pothole I immediately think of ubolts or the swivel preload...the latter being the force which is required to move those swivel pin housings...
Perhaps onslow is on the right track with the linkage...

The spring helped
HI ive put a heavy duty spring on the throttle link this seem's to have stopped about 50% of the bounce!
any more ideas as to what i could do to stop the other 50%. I'm thinking about changing the springs as it may be there to soft ther parabolics on it at the mo dont know how long they have been on her for what do you think?. :drink1: Many thanks for your input and help. :beer:
