I would try using a magnet and a very small screwdriver, it's worked for me in the past. Good luck.

There is a locksmith tool for that, it looks like a tiny saw blade, pushed in on the tooth side of the key with its teeth gripping the key's teeth. Works, ask a locksmith, you might be able to buy one cheap.

got it out so i will leave this for anyone else who has the same problem
i took off the surround and removed the whole of the barrel by using a centre punch to undo the snap bolts, once removed i tapped the end on the ground and using a small magnetic screwdriver and lots of near misses it came out, the only thing i needed to buy was 2 new bolts
i hope no one needs this and would reqemmend buying a new key before this happens to you
