Hi,

I've got a 2004 Land Rover Discovery Series II SE7, the key fob quit working recently because the battery died. I replaced the battery but the vehicle doesn't seem to recognize the Fob now.

If I press the lock or unlock buttons, the Red light comes on while I press it, but the car doesn't respond at all.

The second key fob works fine.

Can anyone give me a pointer on how to make it work again without paying the dealer to reprogram it?

Check manual for programing keys section. I'm blanking on your particular key, but some are even able to program the LR button to do 1 of 4 options (don't quote me here, all fuzzy memory). But must key fobs have a simple reprogramming procedure for battery replacement.

Nothing useful in the manual other than to confirm that I put the correct kind of battery in (CR-2032).

I'm wondering if there is a button pressing sequence or some other kind of action that I can do that gets the Fob re-synched / re-paired (like with bluetooth style pairing).
