Hi folks. New to this board. I just picked up a new to me 2000 Range rover 4.6 last weekend. (previously have had an RRC and a Disco II). Anyway today the rover is showing me something new. I tried a search but found nothing. when i shut off the truck and open the drivers door, I get a chime and a message indicator telling me the key is still in the ignition. only it isnt, its in my hand at that time.

any ideas.

I know the fob needs a new battery. will that fix it or should I be looking for something else? thanks in advance for any advice.

I have a 97 and it does the same thing...if I wiggle the key a little as I am removing it from the ignition I can hear the little "click" that usually accompanies the key removal...I just assume it's one of those little rover gremlins...;)

Thanks guys. I'll try the wiggle and or thumb press if it comes back. Stopped doing this as suddenly as it started.
