The Land Rover Discovery Sport is the British automaker’s newest SUV, sporting room for seven passengers and a design that will define the new Discovery family of vehicles. Powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with 240 hp and 250 lb-ft of torque, the 2015 Discovery Sport will come with a nine-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive.
But it’s not just what’s underneath the hood that makes the stylish SUV an attractive option in today’s marketplace. In fact, it’s pricing is plenty enticing, starting at just $38,920 including destination. Built on a 107.9-inch wheelbase, the 2015 Discovery Sport will offer a smooth ride and generous middle-row legroom while boasting the capability of occupying a “compact only” parking space with its 180.7-inch overall length. On the exterior, halogen headlights and daytime-running lights (DRL) will be standard while Xenon headlights and LED DRLs will be available as options.

A wide variety of colors will be available at launch: Fuji White, Santorini Black, Corris Grey, Indus Silver, Loire Blue, Scotia Grey, Kaikoura Stone, Firenze Red and a limited edition Yulong White. Shoppers looking to further customize the Discovery Sport’s exterior can opt for a Black Pack trim package which adds gloss-black on the grille, door mirror caps, front fender vents and badges. The package will also include the choice of 19- or 20-inch wheels.
Inside, Land Rover’s signature sense of luxury is prevalent on the Discovery Sport despite its price tag. Both the second and third rows can be folded down using one hand for a spacious cargo area while a low luggage compartment floor makes it easy to load and unload larger items. High-tech features on the 2015 Discovery Sport include an all-new eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system while a five-inch color TFT display is positioned between the main gauges to display key data such as fuel levels, gear position, coolant temperature and Terrain Response modes.
Upper trim models will benefit from twin-needle stitched leather on the upper area of the instrument panel and door surfaces while the center console’s vertical spars will be available in a genuine metal finish. Further enhancing the interior ambiance is configurable mood lighting. Available accessories for the interior include headrest-mounted iPad holders, a center armrest cooler/warmer box and a range of towing features including a fixed-height tow bar and detachable towing system.
