I heard about cast wheels cracking and forged bend, so I was thinking about painting my rims black, I have a good deal on the powder coating but should I ditch the idea an get steelies? So are land rover wheels notorious for cracking or are they good?
Thanks!

I have seen or heard of a Rover wheel cracking and I did bend one real bad once in Death Valley.

Any aluminum alloy wheel is going to be susceptible to failure following powder coating. The heat that the wheels must be heated to in order for the powder to flow (350ºF+) will ruin the annealing that the wheel underwent when it was first manufactured. The result is a wheel that has lost all of it's ductile properties, making it incredibly brittle.

You don't want a brittle wheel on your ride.
