Here is a general question regarding the incorrect removal of an ignition switch- not necessarily a RRC or even a LR, but any general auto-in my case a 1990 Geo Prizm. Key broke, out of ignition, can't find key code, locksmith can't duplicate key- GM dealer says most key codes are deleted after 10 years, blah blah blah blah blah....

What happens to the internal workings of the switch housing if I screw a slaphammer into the key slot and yank out- "just like in the movies!"?

I can get a new lock cylinder, but will the cylinder stay in?

Just a general question for locksmiths out there!

Happy New Year! LLC running (and starting) just fine!
