I am looking for a remote faceplate CB radio for my D1. needs to be small enough to mount the face plate infront of the xfer case shifter. I know GME Radiophone in Austrialia makes them, but I think the freq is different than here in the states. What about UK CB, do they use the same freq that we use in the states? I have a small uniden, but dont like any of my mounting ideas and I have Ham gear to install to. I do not want one of the all in one Cobra mic cb's. Thanks Mike

Its more the UK antenna I want, thier CB's I knew were on FM over AM here in the states, But the Tornado Stinger antenna used by many rovers over there is what I want. It should work as its set up for the same 27mhz frequency. I am debating to cut a slot in my overhead console to fit my uniden in there, it would would stick down about 1/4inch lower than the factory console, so it wont effect the sun visor. I loved an install I saw in a aussie Discovery, he mounted the detachable face plate right infront of the xfer case shifter. Very clean and simple install without drilling or cutting holes in the dash ect. I know the one Ham radio I want would mount there, but still have to sort out the CB mounting location. Mike

I knew the aussie stuff wouldnt work, I just wish it would as the I like the size and styling. I may just have to mod the overhead console and put the Uniden up there. Mike
