The accident shouldn't bother you, the price should! Way over priced even at that mileage, accident aside. And yes, accidents should always be a major concern. Airbags not deploying is no gauge on the extent of the damage and how it was repaired. I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole.

Thanks very much! I am in the market for an 04 D2 with around 60-70k. Would you say 10k is a good price for a mechanically sound vehicle?
That's still a little high, but it always comes down to what the market will bear and your location.
I would give you a tentative yes, under the following very important caveats. They let you take it to a very respected LR INDY shop and you pay to have it inspected top to bottom, inside and out. And I'm not talking the dealer "100 point" pre-purchase inspections. You need someone that can inspect the "guts" of the truck and find any potential future problems.
Second. There is NO rust anywhere on the frame. That is one of the "Achilles heels" of the D2's.
I would also hope that at that mileage that you would be the second, or most, third owner. As such I would hope for most, if not all, of the maint. records.
Most importantly, is it worth it to YOU. That's ultimately the bottom line.
Good luck.

$13,900 for a D2 is crazy. You could get an LR3 for that. I had an '05 LR3 and it was 1,000 times better than the D2. With all the known problems the Disco had, I can't imagine spending more than about $5k for one.

I must agree. Way too much in any market in any condition.
Some people seem to think that these things are worth a big bag of cash!

I have purchased 3 d2s (2000, 2001 and 2002) and a 1997 d1. All 4 were in drivable condition and solid trucks but needing work.
I have recently been trying to buy another and been trying on a clean 2002 that has not moved in over 2 years and had security problems, tires are bald and centre dash has been smashed out during a stereo theft. I'm th
Inking of it as a good parts truck but the guy seems to think it's worth $4000 to $5000. Told him good luck and offered him $500.
Now checking out a 2004 that has recently had heads done selling whole or parting out.
This guy too thinks it's worth $4000 no way!
Maybe a $1000 truck unfortunately it is probably worth more parted out than as a whole..... but no where near $4000!

Why not Buy a solid cheap truck and have the work done yourself. That way you know what has been done, when and by who.
Makes a lot more sense to me.
Even if you paid $4000 for a truck needing some work, you can do a lot for $10,000 and still be ahead!

I Second that !!!
I have bought all of mine for less than 3K and did the work myself that way you know what you have. If you pay that much up front and something goes your gonna be pissed. If you pay 3K and fix it up you know what you've got.
