I have LR3 2008 model , I have suddenly noticed battery light on while running . It looks like the alternator having issue but still the car is running smooth and no any indication about ‘low power mode’ , radio works fine .
my trip back to home is 250 KM and I am not sure if I can take the risk to drive back home or fix it in my place where no spare parts available and would require long time , not sure if the car usually run long time before the alternator gets dead . The battery light goes and come back . Thanks for the advise

If you’re seeing the battery light then the car is using more power than it’s creating. If it’s intermittent, then you’re intermittently losing charge on your battery.

assuming that you can take a multimeter and confirm that the alternator output is low, I would definitely replace the alternator or correctly diagnose the issue as soon as possible.

when it fails and you can’t start/run, it will be terribly inconvenient and you may not have access to repairs.
