Hello,

I have a 2006 LR3 V6 w/180K miles that has developed engine cam/valve noises from both sides of engine and I get the P0011 code (I tried to upload video but mp4 format is not allowed) .. only the check engine light comes on .. oil pressure light is NOT on.. never had any engine or other issues prior to this....

as is often recommended for this issue, I have replaced the oil/filter (no metal shaving were visible) but no change.. I use Mobil 1 5-30W and change oil regularly..

I have looked through the forum threads but could not find any posts re: details on how it was repaired ...

If anyone has repaired this type of issue .. I would greatly appriceate any help..
a) how was it reparied , what was replaced and what calibrations were made....
b) a list of parts that were replaced
c) how much time it took to replace the parts + adjustments/calibrations.. ..
and also, do any system updates need to be done at the dealer after parts are replaced?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Harry

I hope I am wrong but your timing chain tensioner maybe going. It can cause timing to jump. If caught early it can be fixed. Get an opinion from a your local Ford mechanic. 4.0l V6 is a Ford Cologne engine, timing is a common issue on those.

This guy has comprehensive instructions:
