LR3 Remote

Hi,

I have a 2008 LR3 SE Petrol and I have a key that doesn't work.

At first I thought it was the battery, so after reading up on forums, the battery on these remotes seems to be rechargable.

I charged the remote with a 2-hour long drive, then of all the 3 buttons, only 1 worked... and that is the panic button.

Anyone is having similar issues? Is my remote dead?

Thanks

It is the battery in the remote. Like any rechargeable battery, they will not last forever. If you are handy with a soldering gun, you can order the $13 battery and a new key shell and replace it yourself. I've had success replacing it for my 2005 LR3. There are guides online to do it.Otherwise you are going to need to pay the dealer $375 for a new key.
I have the same issue. Found the guides. Its possible to replace the battery without having to get a new case. Have to use a reaaaallly skinny serrated blade. Otherwise its gonna look butchered and youll have to order a case anyway.

If the new battery doesnt work, apparently there is a wire that commonly corrodes under the carpet near the passenger door. Id look there next.
