Newby here - quickk question.

I have a 2000 Discovery, 60,000 miles on it with all the bells and whistles from the factory ... as well as a small rubber magnetic thing on the drivers side of the center console that I can't figure out! I can peel back the rubber covering a little and can see four silver metal discs underneath, but other than that, I've got nothing.

I've posted pictures, if anybody knows what this is I'd appreciate your responses.

Looks like a magnet someone just added to keep something there.. i have a friend with a blazer who uses a magnet setup similiar like that to put his CB mic on

I have seen something like that in a silverado and he used it for the same thing, cb radio...

What you have there, is a very strong 'rare earth' magnet. Behind it will be some sort of metal plate which holds it in place. If you pull the magnet off, the backing plate inside the console will probably fall down.
