I have a 1997 Land Rover Discorvery I and am interested in obtaining the shop and parts manuals no a CD ROM or DVD. Does anyone know of a source?

If not, what is a good source for manuals for a non-mechanic? I ordered the "official" service manual and got many zeroxed pages that were not detailed or organized enough to help a lot.

Thanks.

CD repair manual

I bought one on ebay and have been really pleased with it.

Search for "Land Rover Discovery Service Manuals (CD only)" and I think you'll be please with the price and product. I'm not selling them; I just have one I use.

I believe you guys are refering to the RAVE CD.....heh...its free, sort of. www.tidewaterrovers.com has been giving out tons and tons of free copies...search "RAVE CD" on discoweb and there is a guy named Jammer (www.tidewaterrover.com) that is the one giving them out, just post your mailing address and what not and you will recieve one.

Emailed Jammer, we'll see what happens. Thanks Kep!

Thanks for help on Manuals on a CD!

Gentlemen,
I really appreciated the information. I did order the CD from the eBay source and downloaded the engine PDF files from the http://www.landrover.ee/... link. (If I went directly to the top link, I would not have located those files.) I didn't find any reference to a for a super CD at the site given.

Are there good sources for files with part numbers for the rest of the vehicle also? I could have used one when the seat control that fitted into the consol broke. The controls worked still worked but the switch hung out. After checking the picture on the web site, I talked to a Rover Parts person, it seemed like I needed the switch. After getting it in, I found out the cover plate (actual broken part) was not included and that electrical parts were not returnable--even if unused!
