Had em on my '95 before I swapped out to the Disco wheels. The disco wheels came with new Scorpions.. way better off road tire, and does not make any extra noise at all. I like em.. I would pass on the Michelin's due to their high price and the fact that you can get a better tire for less.

Michelin makes the best tires for range rovers for long drivability. They used to have the Michelin 4x4 that were awesome they still do in atlantic british but the size is bigger. That was one of the best tires. Then I ran michelin synchrone. I don't like the tread type but the mileage was good.

Interesting survey result in Tirerack.com

I am looking for a good set of tires with good snow traction. I was looking for this tire in Tirerack.com and checked the survey.
Snow traction is marginal, not so great.
Very well reviewed on most of the categories though. But it is pricey at $198 per tire!

I replaced the OE GoodYear HP with these, and the ride difference is just night and day. it grips the dry surface, it cuts water (what water!) and is doing very well in light snows (haven't got a chance to try any worse yet). Hitting bumps feels softer, too.

I initiallly had my eyes on the XPC, but the shop had only two and I heard it was a tad noisy, so I plunged for the more expensive Synchrone. Worth it? I think so! With the set lasting approximate 4 years of great ride, the extra cost over its life is still miniscule ... methinks.

Good snow / compromise tire: Nokian WR SUV H-Rated tires. Quiet, good grip, great in snow / rain. Somewhat pricey @ $150 / tire in the 255x65x16 size.
