Hello,

I'm looking at purchasing an LR2 from Carmax and was curious about owners experience. It looks like there are a lot of problems, but it's hard to tell if this is the place for problems and owners who are not having these issues are on the sidelines?

Also curious where repairs fall on the spectrum. I've owned a BMW, Toyota and I'm currently driving a Saab, which I love and I'm sad to be retiring.

The LR2 I'm looking at is 4WD 3.2L 6 cylinders

I know everyone has a different experience, so I'm curious to hear from as many people as possible.

Thanks for your time.

I bought a 2011 LR2 HSE from CarMax. Bought a warrantee just in case (the car had 50,000 miles). Peace of mind that should there be a problem, my cost would be $300 max. Great buying experience, fair price, and wonderful car. The LR2 came with new Bridgestone tires and new Land Rover carpet mats. Did not have the manual but they paid for a new one ($165). Bought a set of Gorilla lug nuts and most likely will buy a set of wheels in the Spring so I don't have to swap winter/summer tires. Added a Draw Tite hitch and will eventually hook up the wiring. Thought about a roof rack but the vehicle is a bit tall for me to easily reach a rack or put a bike on top.
I highly recommend CarMax.

This youtube guy is a pretty funny dude. Watch his vids about his carmax bought RR.
Seems like a very smart idea to get a big warranty! I love Land Rover but I think they make the cars to last the first owner 2-3 years and then have them wear out for the 2nd owner who are people who like to work on their cars. But they don't tell people that and so unsuspecting people get screwed.
