Just got it last week. Only things wrong are the front sunroof wont operate and the diff lock wont engage. I'll have to fix them soon.

Pics too big. Anyone know how to make smaller?

Crop the pictures or use a resize tool. What's the rest of the details on the Disco? (Series I or II, what year, etc.) Actually I take that back, it must be a series I between 1994 and 1999 because you said the diff lock won't engage. THis is common; it also means the rig hasn't been used off-road much. The best thing to do is keep working the lever...

The Disco is a 1998 LSE with 160k miles. The original owner had it to the dealer for all the scheduled maintanance, and says it has been flawless for him, with the exception of the sunroof and the rear locking mechanism, which doesn't stay up enough to unlock by the handle, i.e., need to hold the key to the right when lifting the handle.

I will have to address these issues when I get the time. The owner did say he never used the diff lock. I have strayed the linkage from below with wd40, but susopect the issue is within the top cover. I am dreading it, but may ned to pull the console, drill the cover rivits and get at it from above. Any suggestions? :dunno:

Oh yea man...i got a 96 D1 and i FINALLY just got the Diff Lock to engage on High and through Neutral...but i cant get it to engage on Low...sometimes it'll happen that i get it out of high to move it into low, but it wont engage, and then i cant put it back into High...what i do then is say a little prayer..lol..and start workin that thing like there's no tomorrow...enjoy the Disco Bud!

What did you do to get it working? I am dying to get all things working to full potential, especially something as important as diff lock. It goes from high to low w/o problem, just wont go left into diff lock mode.

Update: got the sunroof operational. Was a simple bad connection at either the sunroof ecu or front motor.

Still need to fix the diff lock. I have had finals last two weeks and have not had spare time. Will advise when done.

I am also planning on taking care of some rust issues I have discovered, as well as install a 4 pin flat trailer wiring system. I am planning a big off road/ camping expedition to Moab, UT, this summer with my family, and will be pulling my jeep behind the disco with an A bar. Because I will need some more seating, I have ordered a set of jump seats and am waiting to install them. I got a sweet deal on them through this site: Autosportsunlimited.com

Once I get these issues squared away, I need to tackle a little gremlin hiding in my driver's side door locking system, which is preventing me from being able to lock the disco with the keyless. Also, still need to fix the rear door lock system. All in due time. I cant wait to get the disco up to 100% and head out west!
