This is the truck I bought a couple of years ago now in non running condition. Turns out the DPO had failed to torque the RH rocker assembly and it lifted up, the shaft broke and all sorts of mayhem ensued.

Since that time, I have rebuilt the left and right rocker assemblies with new shafts and rocker arms. I've also replaced the cam and followers, and all the valve stem seals. I have checked the valve clearances and they are all in or close to spec. None of the pushrods are loose, and the valve guides had no play in them.

This is the sound I get when I first fire up the engine:

Sounds pretty good, no? Here is the sound I get once the engine warms fully:

Not so good. Sounds like a valve tap but as I say, all the valve gear is new and seems to pass muster. I'm fearing the dreaded slipped liner. Can anyone identify this noise?
