I have heard of what people have called a "hack" it allows you to use the stock screen as a dvd monitor. The stock one may require a DVD player. A friend got one for his Acura TL on EBAY. He is the one that told me about it being called a "hack" chip. He claims that by splicing a DVD player into that system you don't have to get the chip. :dunno: not sure how it would work in a RR.

Dude. Cell phones are bad enough. Please don't be one of those idiots watching TV instead of driving. There's a reason NAV systems don't play MTV video's while the car is moving.
I agree that while driving it may not be the best idea..however you have to admit that the opportunity to change your nav system into a dvd system as well is a cool idea. It's not like the car is going to west coast customs and being pimped out by Exzibit. :D

Listen....I'm just an old guy 42 with a 9yo daughter that likes to watch Nemo or something similar that I'm just not gonna be watching. Currently she uses my laptop to watch DVD's. I've been told the the euro spec RR can be set to play DVD's and I'm at least as smart as they are...lol

I've got the DVD player that hangs on the back of the seat for my 4yo daughter. Works great, dosen't distract the driver and I paid under $200 for it at Costco.
Don't take it personally. I don't mean to say that YOU'RE not capable of playing Nemo for you kiddo while driving. I saying most people aren't and if I had one up front I'd be watching porn when I'm out with the boys. :drink1:

I would like to see a pimped classic though. Just not in my driveway.

best idea would probably be to talk to your dealer. They might have a few accessory pamphlets. Maybe it's available.
My dealer is the one that mentioned the euro spec chip.

Depending on what year you have, if it's a Mk3 with the Mk3 Nav system, all you need to buy is the TV modual from BMW, it is made to work only when the rig is in Nuetral with the Parking brake set. It also has imputs for DVD player. Cost about $500 to $800.
