Hello, I just bought a 2000 Land Rover Discovery. I am assuming it is a II and am unsure because i got it through an auction.

It has 40,000 miles and and is a maroon/burgundy color. so far I really like it. (needs tinted windows badly :drive: )

anyways, ive been lookin on the net for a real good land rover accessories website where i can find LR floormats, maybe that front grill and like a tire cover or something.

also i just figured out it has a 6 disc changer and it is VERY well hidden under the passenger seat, but there is no magazine in there.....anyone know what/where i can buy a replacement mag? (radio shack?)

anyways i live in florida and if anyone knows of a accessories site that is based in America I would appreciate it.

I hope i posted this in the right section

haha..no no, its called Atlantic British but its based in New York..they have Genuine Rover parts for way below retail prices, and other brands as well. Yes i have purchased from them before and they are wonderful. OH MAN NAPLES!!!..i have Fam over there and i go about once a month, but havent been on or heard of any trails over there, though im sure there must be TONS!...its about an hour 1/2 drive for me. My relatives live near Imocklee (I'm almost sure i spelled that wrong). Have you been of road over there yet or is this your first 4x4 to have fun with?...It is in my case....i know Big Cypress Preserve has a 26 mile trail with some shallow water crossings (I've only heard and seen pics, havent witnessed for myself...yet :D )

heh...this is my first 4x4 but my 4th suv. i haven't even started looking for offroading spots yet....that 26mile trail sounds cool...is it open to the public?

mine is the SD...it doesn't have heated seats or the elevation thingy or the hardon karmon (sp?) speaks...but i have a bunch of audio stuff im gonna dump in there :O

it has a cracked windshield :( and one tire needs replacing (on the side its ripped kinda)....i am pretty sure they are the 16" tires.

so how good is this thing in offroading? i have been reading alot of reviews and stuff about these trucks but really...what kind of stuff can i get through

Well... here's one for ya...i was on a trail off Okeechobee one night with TONS of mud (it had rained the night before)...i engaged the low gears and put the main gear selector on 1, i got through a HUUUGE puddle where the water/mud came up over my hood and before the nose of the car was completely under, i started to come out of it and i got through that JUST fine..ON STOCK TIRES (Michelin XPCs)...so i let my buddy drive a bit and what happens...you guessed it, he got us stuck..the front right tire was almost completely submerged in mud...and the truck was on an incline. I take over the wheel and start to tap the accelerator while on Reverse (while still on Low Range Gears) and get us out, then put it back on 1 and drove right through where the truck had been stuck....that was a crazy night...i would suggest that you NEVER go out alone when muddin....the truck is VERY capable!...it has Fantastic Axle articulation, great suspension system, one HEK of a tough engine and i mean that in every sence...it can handle lots of physical stress but try to avoid that.
