After about two months with my '98 LSE, I had it running great. New plug, fluids, ect. Cleaned fuel system with cleaner and had milage up to about 13+ in town. On the way home yesterday it was running perfect. I left it outside last night( as always, not enough garage space here at home) but my wife moved it over the otherside of the driveway later in the evening. This afternoon I started it up to put in the garage to do more work on it and got a BIG miss !! It was really noticeable, but seemed to let up with time. It was only about 20deg F outside last night, and it has been out in colder than that.. Checked all wires, ect, but see nothing. I've got a set of Magnacor wires coming next week, I think the originals are still on it (84,000mls). Engine makes a SLIGHT clicking, sounds like injectors, maybe lifters, but they seem normal to me . Any ideas on the sudden onset miss ??? I just took it out for a couple of miles, and I can still notice a very slight miss... Maybe bad fuel ??? My wife filled it up last week from her cheapo station. I only put Shell in mine. If anyone has any sugesstion, I would appreciate them.. Thanks...

I bet the "clicking" is from the wore out plug wires. They may be arcing to anything metal.

Pull the truck into the garage, and turn off all the lights.
Start the truck and look over the engine bay really good. (make sure to allow time for your eyes to adjust).
Look for tiny, blue sparkes jumping off the plugs, or plug wires.

Or

If you just washed your truck, or it just rainerd (which I dought it rained at 20 degrees), your ECU under the hood may have gotten mositure in it. It will dry over a little time. The D1's had a problem with water running off the hood, down the hood gasket, and dumping directly on top of the ECU. The clicking could be from the fuel pump relay....It would be a louder click than "normal" though.

Took the truck last night when we went out for dinner... It NEVER skipped a beat. Ran great today when I ran up to my office for a minute. I'm betting it was water in the cheapo fuel which froze overnight in the fuel rail/injector. I'm putting new ignition wires in next weekend so I'll see if there is any difference. I've felt a slight vibration at steady rpm which I feel is a ignition problem. Can really only feel it in the accelerator pedal. That is one reason for the new wires. No evidence of jumping.. I checked that first thing...I have no history on this truck, so I'm treating EVERYHING as suspect !!
