I just finished installing swaybar disconnects and a manual difflock, so naturally I had to check em out at the local lake. I know all about the "marbles in the dashboard" sound, but is it normal for the springs to creek and pop like a goodwill mattress (seriously)?

Looks like a fun time!

How difficult was the CDL install? What parts or kit did you use?
I need to do mine soon and am interested in how others have done it.
I'm on a budget, so I fabricated my own. I was going to use the idea that's posted on the Discoweb/tech page, but after surfing for other ideas I found a guy in the UK who sells CDL levers that fits between the body and frame rail. It looked easy, so I went for it. I bought a 4' piece of 1.5"x1/8" aluminum bar stock and hardware at Lowes for $10. Then I drilled, bent, and cut the aluminum into a workable lever assembly. It took me half a day using a drill, hacksaw, files and a table vise; it wasn't hard but I did have to work blind and on my back fitting the assembly onto the transfer case. It works like a champ, but I do have to get out of my seat and reach under the passanger side of the vehicle to engage the diff--no biggie for me considering the price.
If you're interested I can send instructions and pictures. :drink1:

thats great.. how does it handle?
Great! you can definately feel the difference between proactive diff engagement vs. reactive ETC. When I climbed a particular steep hill before the mod, sometimes the loss of traction would cause my disco to move backwards momentarily until the ETC kicked in, now it's full steam ahead all the way to the top!
