and there seems to be no electricity heading towards the fuel pump now either.
I recently replaced the starter due to the starter solenoid completely burning out (smoke and everything). The problem started with the engine cutting out and being difficult to start. I thought it may simply be a clogged fuel filter so I changed out the fuel filter which didn't help a thing. Found out in the process that the battery was to small for the cranking amps required. I replaced the old battery with a 900 cranking amps battery - still had the same problem. In the process of trouble shooting I ended up burning out the starter solenoid. After changing out the starter it would not even turn over, and now there is no power going to the fuel pump as well. It seems to me like I may have tripped a sensor or a safety device when I burned out the starter. Anyone have any suggestions as to where to look for such a thing? Is it possible for a normal mechanically enclined person to manually reset these types of things or does it require a computer program?
