New to the Land Rover family

I just purchased a 1999 Discovery series 1, with the 4.0L V8. It has 170,000 miles on the chassis about 10,000 on the rebuilt top end of the engine. It has a 2.5” old man emu lift. It seems to be well taken care of. This is my first Land Rover and I have no Idea about them other then they are British and have a high angle of approach. I am a shade tree mechanic so I know my way around an engine compartment. I just don’t know anything about them. Please point me in the right direction!
