Hey there,
DOn't be frightened by all the online forums about discoveries. I have a 2003 Disco and the only problem I have had (27k miles) is a burned out headlight, and it was fixed in 5 minutes (free). Disco's have their quirks, but you are also getting an amazingly unique vehicle, with unparalleled capabilities ( I don't do serious offroading, but when two feet of snow falls over night, the thing gets me where I need to go, and safely). Again, if you accept the quirks, it is an amazing car. I was worried too when I read all the stuff, but I think it is mainly people who should really just be buying a ford, and couldn't care less about the Land Rover Legacy. With the history, capability, and craftsmanship of Land Rovers, I can deal with an extra leak here or there, or an extra visit to the dealer each year. Take care, oh and by the way, if you want to sell it let me know- for real.

Ah man, that is what the warranty is for! If your dealer is anything like ours, you get Caribou coffee, and either a Disco or a Jaguar X-Type for a loaner. Not too bad if you ask me! I usually schedule my service to be done right around the same time as a long road trip. Might as well put the mileage on someone else's vehicle!

Josh, like most vechiles out there, if you take care of it, it'll last awhile. you'll notice some quirks but it's a land rover and over time you'll enjoy the quirks... keep up with schedualed maintence and don't skimp out and get regular gas
