Hello everyone, We recently purchased a 2000 Disco 7 seater, always wanted one and now here it is!!:

There are a few issues with the vehicle that we knew of before purchase which reflected the price and I've fixed them all except this engine ticking sound, it's seems to be either rockers or lifters. It has 155km or 100,000 miles I did an oil change with 10W40 5.8L as recommended in the manual. The ticking didn't change. The noise only starts when the engine is warmed up and at idle anything about 1,100rpm it goes away, knowing it's going to need some internal engine work, but would like to be a little informed before taking to a shop, so any help would be appreciated! thanks in advance

PM me your number before you take it to a shop, and I'll walk you thru what to check.

After you call mike consider AutoRX. Honestly it was the only thing that fixed mine. I did a double treatment (2bottlesx3k miles and then change)

Check my signature for my symptoms and what I tried before I fixed it.
