man, there are multiple red flags going on in those pics.

1) Jeeps rescuing/trying to rescue Jeeps
2) going 4-wheeling in slacks and sport coats
3) mounting a berm with steep, uneven drops and a frozen pond on one side
4) standing on ice of unknown thickness/quality in loafers
5)winching through ice
6) no sign of beers to go with all that ice

they got what was coming to them.

Does it matter how they were trying to recover?
I think I would have started with the digger!

Having stuck mine where I had to have outside help I can feel for them. Had to hire a tow truck with his 90 feet of cable, 75 feet of tow strap and 20 foot of chain. I was scared as hell either the straps would fail or his chain or cable.
That was a long pull.

My signature is the pic of me stuck before it got dark. Was raining like crazy.

My original plan was to have a big F250 pull me out. Glad I didn't even try it.

Just did a little translating. Apparently the it got stuck on that hump, then started sliding down the hill, and they couldn't pull it up. even with three winches. So they thought they could just drive over the ice... but they were wrong.

ouch.

Every now and then something comes along that makes you feel better about all the bone-head crap you've pulled in the past. I had a buddy that lost an old diesel landcruiser through the ice in lake michigan. However he waited for the ice to thaw, had it pulled out with a Cat dozer...dried it out changed fluids and stated it up (it ran like a champ).

Here's the link in English

Looks like an ARB to me, for those of you thinking to get an ARB... think again!!! Although, the bolts that hold the bumper onto the LR frame might be stronger than the Jeeps..

"Yeah this here ice holds me up just fine... shoot, that Jeep of mine can't weigh much more than I do... I think I will just drive over it!"

Poor Jeep... it needs an owner with a bit more brainpower..
