ive just done around 800 miles in my old landy and ive burnt around 2and a hafe liters of oil is this ok for a diesal?????

Good gawd NO, That's horrible. Time for rings, as you're no doubt burning it up. Have you checked for any massive leaks, I mean worse than normal Land Rover leaks?

I must agree with terry-there is no way that that is o.k.It IS tme for new rings or you may have that notorious of all leaks...the main seal between the gear box and the engine. Is it a 2.25 or 2.5?

well not to sure on engine it had its 6cy replaced with a deisal land rover engine all i no that its a 3bearing crank ive done the sump gasket as it was leaking at the back which i tought it was the rear crank seal thank god not and ive done the rocker cover gaskit too its a drie engine to look at... so would it be best to do piston and ringds or just rings?? :dunno:
