The Mrs. was driving (Phx 105F today) when her AC went warm, lost power steering, heard a “clunk” from the engine bay, and was just under redline on the temp gauge.

Luckily she had just turned into in a parking lot.

Tow truck is enroute.

I haven’t really even looked at it except for the gallons of coolant on the ground and an empty coolant bottle.

Thoughts?

...and as we pulled it on the tow truck - with the tail up and engine tilted down, more coolant just running off the crank pulley...

Red was right on, as usual.

The old water pump gasket was a beast to get off.

#nocoolantleak

I am hoping the 3 minute overheat will not come back to haunt me.
Gonna cross my fingers for you Mike.

As you know, I wasn't so lucky and it was literally, the same amount of time - wife saw the needle shoot up to red and she turned right into a parking lot and immediately shut it down. *sighs* This was the one from last year that I still have not resolved.

Thanks.

Oddly, my temps today were the best I’ve seen: 80f outside temp, 190 idling for like 30 mins. 183-186 driving after idling for 30 mins.

Heck i am just always waiting for “it”.

But this is life we chose. 🙂

Glad it was a quick fix for you.
Hopefully with all that had been done on it the overheat didn’t effect it too much.
I think wives should be banned from driving discos😉
