Oxygen Sensors - which is which?

I don't really know what you mean by "Euro drivers side". :dunno:
If the car was built for continenltal Europe, it will be left hand drive, only if the car was built for England it will be RHD.

First: Bank 1= left side, when sitting in the car
Bank 2= right side when sitting in the car

Second: Would be good to know what your actual codes are?!

Third: At a minimum you should change the O2's in pairs,..since you have 4 O2's best would be to change all 4,..if this is in fact your problem!

You might (and I say "might" !) run into a problem with changing only one O2. Since we don't know what brand of sensor is currently installed, having 2 different sensors (front L/R) may (again "may"!) confuse the computer. That's why people usually change at least 2 if not all 4. But, trust me, I get the $$ concern!!

Start out with one and see what happens!
Also keep a log of your codes with date and odo-miles. Makes future diagnostics much easier.

Good luck!

Well, I replaced both pre catalyst O2 sensors, checked the computer for errors and drove it on the freeway/highway for about an hour before the smog test. Passed with flying colors! Nice! Thanks for all the help. Very much appreciated.

I have one additional question. What, if any difference would running high test fuel 91 do for smog vs. running low grade 87? Any thoughts on this?
Good for you on the O2's!... and of corse congraz on the smog!

In simple terms: will help keep you engine running smoother and prevent foul up! This is more a long term thing rather then a quick fix for smog. For good house keeping use a can of 44K every now and then.
Our cars like to be maintained properly, that's when they are happy and will give you joy;)
