Looking online at cheap replacement cats, they all look like the Catco 6905 available at Summit (and elsewhere). But this style has a centered inlet and outlet, whereas the stock passenger side has a centered inlet but offset outlet.

Has anyone installed a universal cat on the passenger side, and if so, how did you accomodate the centered outlet? Did it just cause the body of the cat to hang lower down at the aft end?

It'll work fine on either side.
Paul: Thanks for that endorsement. But you know how you sometimes see "ghetto" cars/trucks with an exhaust system hanging down as you see it from the side? If the replacement cat is not offset at the outlet like the OEM, I'm afraid you'll see the tail corner of the replacement cat looking from the side, and it will also be a bash target.

ALSO, is it ever an issue that the O2 sensor is so close to the inlet weld? Enough clearance there to cut out old/weld in new without damaging the O2 boss?
