Hi,
I picked-up my new '88 Range Rover this evening and plan on working on it all weekend. It needs a lot of work. The first thing I need to do is move the drivers seat forward, but of course the switch is broken, how can I over-ride, or manually move the seat forward? I can barely reach the steering wheel the way it is now.
Thank you,
Pat

Pat did you figure this out?
The seat switch is like the Mercedes switch. You can easily disassemble it and short it out to move the seat.

Maybe the switch just needs cleaning. I know my gave me trouble and I cleaned it and it started working fine.

Good luck.

Hi,
The guy I bought it from showed me how he pulled the cables from the motor and swited them by hand. A very messy, slow job. He has two new switches, but is still looking for them.
I will try to pull the switches and see if contact cleaner will help.
Thank you,
Pat
