I have been reading online about a gas tank recall for the discovery. My question is I got mine a few months ago and was wondering how I can tell if mine falls under the recall.

Most likely yes...my understanding is that they aren't going to change ALLL Fuel Tanks on every rover that's recalled... when i spoke to the dealer he said "...sure, come by and we'll take a look at it" < so from that im guessing they inspect, and depending on the results of thet quick inspection they'll change the tank or not

I just had the tank replaced on my 96 DI at the NJ dealer (parsippany). I also scheduled my 95 D1 to have the tank replaced (it just started to leak two weeks ago... good timing). This is the second time I use the dealer in 5 years and they've been GREAT. The first time was when the gas tank on my 88 RR started to leak, I brought it in and even though the previous owner had replaced the tank thru the recall they installed a new one for me anyway. Now that's service!!!

Just my experience.

Easier said than done. Don't you think If I was able to get through top them I would have an answer. i have called for the past week and leaving messages as the service dept. doesn't seem to be answering the phone.

You should try to go by your dealer in person, and schedule it for recall service to see if yours is covered, the wrost thing they could say is no.

Well i got a hold of the dealer and it is going in on the 18th. I would have driven to the dealer, but they are just over an hour north of me. While its in there I am having them replace the fuel filter and going over the major stuff as it is under warrenty.

I'm going to the dealer on Wednesday to have light kits replaced on both sides as the only brake light working now is the center light! Not so good now that I received the recall notice that there is a fuel tank problem. I'll try to weasel the fuel tank replacement in at the same time. Michele
