i just bought an 05 lr3 and i live near the beach. i took it out this weekend and the stereo won't turn up loud unless the engine is on. it says low battery warning on the radio but is this normal or do i really have a low battery. seems to start fine. any thoughts?

This is normal it is a safety feature to keep you from running your battery down to fast.

That and LR3's are very voltage sensitive

I'd have the battery checked/tested for overall condition...since you are receiving a "low battery" message.

I've never personally seen that message from my radio. However, I do receive a message from the radio indicating it has entered into a "low power" mode when I'm sitting in the parking lot waiting for my wife to return from the store and the engine is not running. Makes sense. And if I'm not mistaken, not only is the amp in a lower power consumption mode, but I also believe the subwoofer is also not activated when in "low power" mode.
