I have 2003 Discovery HSE. I ran out of gas 0.25 miles from home. I put 1 gallon of gas in it. I can't get it to go anywhere. It will start fine then shut off 30 seconds later. Any ideas how to get it to start and stay on? I can get it started, give it gas and it moves a few feet and acts normal, but after that it's like it's out of gas again. Any advice will be appreciated.

Gas is the lube for your fuel pump. No gas will eat your pump if it as the time. That may or may not be your problem. When your rover starts to stall, turn of the key. Go under the hood and on the drivers side (America) between the firewall and the intake, there will be a valve stem like valve that is fuel. Press in and see if you had fuel pressure at stall.

Or he sucked all the crap off the bottom of the tank and clogged the fuel filter
