Hi

I have an 88 F Range Rover EFi Automatic. On occasions (mainly after using diff lock low gear) all is good for around 40 miles or so then suddenly my transfer box kicks itself into "N" so I loose drive being the Auto model.

I have been told it's because my transfer box needs fluid or fluid change is this so or is it a common problem ?

thanks Charlotte

Charlotte hi,
Its very quick and easy to check the level and/or change the transfer box oil.
I've done a complete axle/box/transfer box oil change recently and certainly notice the difference.
Easy to do and it costs virtually nothing. Worth a try no?
