I recently bought a 4.0 P38 and it has developed an overheating problem, the temperature gauge goes right up after driving just a few miles and the top radiator hose is pressurized to the extent that coolant is leaking where it is held in place on the thermostat housing. I notice there is 2 thermostats on the car, Why is that? , I checked the one on the inlet manifold and appears to be operating fine and there is water getting pumped round so the pump is fine. Im scared in case its a slipped lined or cracked block,is there any way of checking the liners?
