ok ive tried to lube up the handle and joints ect, but this rear hatch wont come open from the outside, inside no problem...GAH :confused :complain:

O nmy 95 I has same problem I took screw driver to metal part under hadle and sprayed it and worked it back and forth and lubed up joints and eventually came free give it a try.

FIXED!

gah, the previous owner must of had a new rear latch installed...some moron put the new latch in BUT they didnt put the right levers where they needed to be, so there was a lever on top of the wrong one so it wouldnt lift up on the other lever...GAH but now its fixed. :clap: :drive:

Now that you know that the part is a newer one, go ahead and lube it with "STP silicone-based lubricant", available at "Pep-boys", and lasts longer than "WD 40".

I've never been to Nebraska. Do they say GAH alot out there?

WD-40 is ok for penetrating things (mechanical things) but it is no good for lasting, and washes off too easily. Follow the chemist's advice, above, and use a good silicone based lubricant. I KNOW you got JOHN DEERE out there. JD makes a wonderfull spray penetrant/lubricant
