Ok, yesterday I was an ARB-guy, now Im all $G. Yup, I know its pricy, but its so much more kick ass looking than the Rovertym bar, and only $100 more(minus the price of the skid).

So now ive got an issue with recovery points on the front; unless you guys are totally pro them, I rather not spend $145/piece for those fancy built-in D-Rings that swivel 360 deg. and all that fun stuff.

It looks like the most common (if not the only) recovery point devices are the following;

-safety hooks that bolt to the frame;

-Reciever shackles;

-Dixon Bate 3.5ton Tow Jaws;

-360 deg. D-rings (2 seen on front);

I really love the look of the tow jaws, if for no other reason then just to be non-traditional, I see reciever shackles everywhere. Though im worried that they would hang down enough to get hung up on something, vs shackles would just flop around and move out of the way.

I love those really cool SG swivel D-rings, just the cost.
SCSL, are your SG swivel things worth the $$$, I notice you have them, but its $250 for both (ouch). Also, do they detatch so they can be used with things that arnt hooks? Or do you just use a shackle attached to them?

Thanks

I havent spent anything on repairs yet. Just the basic maintenance and what not. Very frequent oil changes, bulb here and there going out. Air/Oil filters, etc. On the other hand my warrentee only expired about a week ago :) . On the warentee I only had one thing replaced; it was the front driveshaft for vibrations; but it was on recall for those with problems so I dont think it would have cost me anyway.

I use just the regular hooks and have had no problems..... I have pullled and have been pulled..........I'd say start with the basic hooks.... One thing I did do when I mounted was on the other side of my push bar i have a 3/8" thick steel plate roughly 6"x10" to help distibute the pulling force..... all said and done it works and it was cheap..

I get ya guys, but I want something a little more then just metal hooks, unless you are refering to safety tow hook-like hooks.
