my headliner is sagging in the rear. 95 LWB. I've seen the "wheeler dealers" on removing the whole thing and even he says it's fiddly. I know you can buy a kit to recover it.

My question is: How much trouble is it? Is there a viable alternative to taking it out?

If it took a wrench, I would have no fear.

Any experiences, or good ideas?

id say have no fear... taking out he headliner is no big deal...just disconnect interior lights.. visors...overhead grabs..etc...etc...it will come right out...
just be carefull and dont push and pull.....then you can probably reline or repair it.....
