I have ordered the parts to replace the tie rod ends and upper and lower ball joints on my 2001 Disco 2. All of the rubber seals are split and there is movement on my LH tie rod.
I have already replaced the steering pump and water pump.
On a scale of 1-10, how difficult is this job. I have studied the RAVE manual and searched all of the posts.
I have no specialised tools and no air tools.
A few sites have said that the tie rod ends will pop out if I put a big hammer behind the mounting and then hit the front of the mounting witha normal hammer. Is this the case or will a tie rod end puller be required?
My main worry is removing the wheel hub for the upper and lower ball joints.
If I choose not to do it and get an indpendent mechanic, how much should I expect to pay?

Thanks for the help!
