Any advice appreciated.

My 2009 Disco 4 went into "Restricted Performance" mode on the weekend. I was towing a boat and had my new car fridge plugged into the rear 12v.
I stopped and called for assistance. No problems detected after the 90 minute wait. Started the car and the fault was gone.
Started driving again (made it 2kms) only to have the same fault return, and then an amber "Gearbox Fault" appeared.
I got it towed home.
Got a mechanic to come out the next day and he couldn't find any issues. All fluids were good. He drove it for 15 minutes with no problems.
Next day - both faults return.
Take it to LR dealership who believe it is caused by "low pressure fuel pump". Estimated cost to replace/repair - $6000. WTF
Help.

Landrover Disco4 3.0 tdv6

Iam on holiday in the sticks towing a caravan weight max 800Kgs with a 2005 landrover Disco4 3.0 tdv6 and am experiencing Restricted performance message. I stop switch off wait 5 mins and start off again for about another 100Kms before it does it again. Also experience engine power surging when climbing long inclines. any ideas and is it safe to keep stopping and then carrying on?

What is your mileages? If low pressure pump, to save money you will have to do yourself. Pumps range from $300-$600 and tank has to be pulled. Do a fuel pressure test and go from there.

We just purchased a Land Rover Discovery 4 2012 with 67,000 kms 2 days ago. Driving home from dealer we had the Gear Box Fault warning light come on and had to pull over as car was sluggish.
Turned off car restarted drove home.
Next day 10 minutes into journey on our way to work happened again. Had to pull over, Husband now has taken to dealer and they are trying to work out problem. So dissapointed.
