Returning to the fold

Hey forum members, I'm returning to the fold after about a 3 year absence of not driving a beloved Land Rover product. In the next month I will be purchasing a Diascovery. I'm wavering between the Disco 1 versus Disco 2. I previously owned a Classic and it was great. I upgraded (of sorts) and then purchased a P38 and experienced the nightmare of repair after pricey repair. So my question is this, what are the documented or general consensus models years of the Disco 1 that are more reliable versus other model years of the Disco 1?
