I read Edmunds pretty often and saw this on their news today... Dated 6/10/2013..

Land Rover Diesel Hybrid Set for U.S. | Edmunds.com

MY favorite part was the last line, "We expect to see both V6 and V8 turbodiesel models readied for the U.S., alongside the diesel hybrid." :buttrock:

That's awesome, but it'll be 10 plus years before I could afford one. Damn!!!

I've often wondered why no one has introduced a diesel hybrid in the US. They have them across the pond and make our hybrids fuel economy laughable.

Colin
If they produced a hybrid LR4 I would really consider buying one, as long as it got better than 50 mpg.

Curious as to why it would have to get 50 mpgs for you to consider one? I think a large, 7 seat, all wheel drive SUV that got even upper 20s would be awesome since nothing like that exists today. Heck, even the hybrid Tahoes and Yukons only get 20 mpgs.

Colin
Yes even upper 20's would be nice. The prototype RRS hybrid they built supposedly got 70 mpg. Any production vehicle should get close to if not better mileage than that.
I think it would be stupid if they build a hybrid and it only gets 30 mpg. A ten year old diesel Discovery II can get 25 mpg.
