Running without TPMS or aftermarket

'06 LR3,

If I bought a set of wheels for snow tires without TPMS, are there any issues? Would it just be annoying because the tire indicators would just stay lit up all winter?

Also, are aftermarket TPMS any good or do I have to go with OEM?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

I would toss sensors in there, as if you actually end up in some snow/ice, it is harder to tell while driving if a pressure is getting too low, and 4 sensors are probably cheaper then a new tire.

Aftermarket are fine, make sure they're 315MHz, and compatible with the system, most parts distributors can tell you this.
The other thing with TPMS is on some vehicles it is tied in with other systems. For example, the TPMS on my Honda Odyssey is tied in with the stability control system. Without the sensors, the vehicle stability control won't function. I don't know if this is true with the LR3, but it wouldn't surprise me if it was.

I have a second set of tires I use when I go offroad without the TPMS sensors. All that happens is the light stays on. it does not effect anything else.
