I've decided to start servicing my wife's LR4 myself. Changed the oil, but now I'm trying to check the oil level. The Service Indicator is not showing on the driver information screen. The manual says it should be there, has it been disabled?

Engine not running, ignition on. RH 5way button on steering wheel, press Right, down to service menu, oil level display.

For it to show a value, the hood must be open(popped is really all it needs) and the engine must have been off for ~10 minutes.

How did you get the service required message reset?

I didn't mess with that. I don't drive it much, and when I do it only comes on at first when you turn it on. Doesn't bother me.

You have to reset it with a diagnostic tool. The dealer or a good tool such as a snap on solus ultra. Which is what I use.
