Tea kettles whistle too. Have someone else hit the throttle while you try to pinpoint the area with the hood open.

It only does it when moving unfortunately 1 garage said they think it's the start of a wheel bearing? Very odd but I don't believe it is such a thing.
I'm at landrover tomorrow see what they think i have only had it 1 month so still under warranty.👍

Yep, warranty is a good thing. Does it sound like a chirp maybe?

Talk about fast response! Very cool, I'll have to remember the little Rovers can be turbo'd, that adds a whole nutha pile of different parts to a vehicle.

I was informed today the turbo is near the top of the engine and that's why you can her the air flow so much other cars are within or under 😁

It's a good thing you noticed the whistle and took care of it, could have lead to much more than just an impeller replacement.

US market Freelanders are garbage. US market LR2's 2008-2015 are fine, they all suffer from same issues, join an LR2 forum. A family member had one from 08 (from new) till 2016 without any major problems. Have the differential gear oil done at 30,000 miles.
Good Luck,
Dave

Do the services on time. Again have both differential gear oils changed every 30,000 miles very important.

You wrote in Post 6 that it wouldn't pay and you were on the hook for the repair.
Yes that was what I did but after making a phone call to trading standards because the problem was within 4 weeks of purchase I am in my rights to get a refund. I called them and told them I want something in return for my troubles I now have a good warranty unfortunately I have had to pay for the work so far but I have friends in lr garages so I have work done at cost price
