[Freelandin]

Hi i've got a 98 1.8K freelander and i noticed my car was jerking whilst driving, looked under the hood and noticed i've got loose sparks. if i hold my finger near the distributor cap i notice sparks jump from the plugs of lead 3 and the king lead to my finger. Can anyone tell me whats the go here, do i need to just change the leads or is it something more???

Remove the cap, make sure it is not wet, dirty or cracked. If it is OK you will probably have to replace the plug wires,

more than likely you have a cracked dist cap - change and all should be well
