Hey - can anyone answer this:

When you buy any vehicle the common rule of thumb is to replace the shocks every 30-40K miles

So, I bought my car with the Bilstein spring/shock conversion from Atlantic British done already. I am wondering if the shocks still need to be replaced at this interval or if the after market suppliers like Bilstein are better. The question is due also to their "Lifetime warrranty" - they will replace a shock if it fails - so why replace the shocks right????????

I appreciate any responses.:buttrock:

Shock replacement isn't as interval dependant as , say, engine oil. They fail entirely due to age, type of terrain, and amount of driving. Obviously, the better known ones seem to go longer. If they still feel good, what's to replace? Midas, Maybe at 30k, but Bills, nah, not yet.

The shocks and springs you have should be fine for a long time, if the shocks fail they wil leal and you can get them warrantied.
Don't worry about them.
