I think the oil Check valve is sticking on my d1. The oil light is illuminated on startup for a few seconds, along with ticking, then goes away and so does the light.
Is there a way to free up the check valve without cracking open the motor?

How many miles and what service intervals have been done? What weight oil? The correct oil filter has a check valve built in the filter. How long has this been going on?

It's not a daily driver. It's got like 170k on the clock. The service intervals are seasonal and I can't remember the last oil change. I may have forgotten to do it. You may have just solved my problem. I'll change oil, replace the filter and report back.
